Over the past two weeks, CMPT has been hosting Dr. Noora D. Al Bulushi and Omaima Yaqoob Al-Harthi from Central Public Health Laboratories (CPHL) in Oman, who were the most recent participants in our International EQA Training program. Started in 1996, CMPT’s International EQA Training program has provided instruction and guidance to laboratory professionals around the world as they either start or scale up their own EQA programs. Past participants have come from China, Belgium, Kenya, Oman, the Phillipines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, and Zimbabwe.
During their two weeks at CMPT, our visitors had the opportunity to learn about sample production methods, program internal design, internal audits, and External Quality Assessment program operations. Our lab team walked them through every step of sample preparation, shipment, including lab procedures, to inform their own EQA program at CPHL.
The Oman delegation is the first one to train at CMPT after a long pause, but we are excited to be able to offer this program once more to those interested.
