How do you and your lab staff prepare for proficiency testing challenges? How do you hone your knowledge about organisms you don’t encounter often?
CMPT’s Professional Development course helps laboratory professionals expand and refine their knowledge of important organisms, leveraging our past year of proficiency testing challenges and our expert technical committees. Proficiency testing challenges from the previous program-year are hand selected and annotated with relevant information about identification, antimicrobial susceptibility, clinical relevance, and more to construct this valuable course. Our expert committees work in labs across Canada, and provide detailed information about each challenge, including tips for tricky identifications and advice about protocols for testing and reporting.
Every year, the course presents new information based on the last year’s challenges. If you have taken the course before, it’s worth taking again!
Does your lab subscribe to at least one CMPT Proficiency Testing program? If so, you can register for free*!
Three sub-courses are available: Clinical Bacteriology, Mycology, and Parasitology. You can take any or all of them. Each sub-course consists of a series of three to four modules, each containing 2-4 proficiency testing challenges with detailed discussions. Modules are followed by a short quiz.
The course is 100% online and self-paced, so you can learn when you have time.
FEE: $650 for non-members
2024 Registration is FREE for staff of CMPT participants laboratories
