Screening and Molecular Bacteriology

External Quality Assessment for Screening of organisms in clinical samples.

This program provides proficiency testing to laboratories screening for the presence of MRSA, VRE, group B streptococcus, group A streptococcus, and CRE.

CMPT OFFERS FOUR SCREENING PROGRAMS

MRSA

screening for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus by culture and /or molecular methods.

VRE

screening for vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus by culture and / or molecular methods.

Group B Streptococcus

screening for group B streptococcus by culture and / or molecular methods.

CRE

screening for carbapenem-resistant enterobacteria by culture and / or molecular methods.

Group A Streptococcus

screening for group A Streptococcus by culture and / or molecular methods.

Two shipments per year: April and August.

Results Report and Feedback

Results for Screening Bacteriology programs are due two weeks after the shipping date.

Results can be conveniently reported online or sent by fax using our reporting forms.

Each laboratory receives a personalized Result Letter that can be conveniently and confidentially viewed on line.

  • Expected results
  • Laboratory results
  • Grades assigned

Results for all participant laboratories are posted online.
