CMPT’s Professional Development Courses
CMPT’s Professional Development courses help laboratory professionals expand and refine their knowledge of important organisms, leveraging our past proficiency testing challenges and our expert technical committee members’ experience.
Proficiency testing challenges are presented as individual cases with a few self-evaluation quizzes or questions and relevant information about identification, antimicrobial susceptibility, clinical relevance, and reporting practices or recommendations.
The content of these cases has been created by our expert technical committee members who work in labs across Canada.
The courses cover laboratory cases in Clinical Bacteriology, Mycology, or Enteric Parasitology and can be taken individually or as a program
Each course is divided modules with a quiz at the end of each module. A certificate of completion is awarded to those students obtaining a passing grade for all modules.
CE credits
The Cases in Clinical Microbiology program has been awarded 29.5 PEP hours by the the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
