Liver abscess: Candida krusei – Shipped August 2011
A sample simulating liver abscess material obtained from a 27 year old female in-patient with a liver transplant and fever was sent to category A laboratories.
Participants were expected to isolate and identify the isolate as Candida krusei.

- Its intrinsic resistance to antifungal agents such as fluconazole makes it even more important to report to the species level.
