Gram – CSF: neutrophils, gram positive bacilli (Listeria monocytogenes) – Shipped August 15, 2016

HISTORY

A simulated CSF smear made from CSF collected from a 78 year old patient with headache and fever was sent to category A, B, C, and C1 laboratories for Gram staining.

Participants were expected to report the presence of neutrophils and gram positive bacilli/coccobacilli.
